1. 1964 Nissan Skyline 2000GT
Thinking that victories on the racing circuit would spur sales, Prince mounted the G7 engine from the Gloria into the Skyline and produced the required 100 units to gain official approval. The car (launched on the 1st May 1964) was entered in the 2nd Japan GP in 1964. A Porsche 904 won the race, but Skylines monopolized the 2nd to 6th places. It soon became famous for its performance and development continued, producing the GT-B, launched in February 1965.

2. 1966 Prince R380-I
Having been narrowly defeated by Porsche in the 2nd Japan GP (1964), the Prince Motor Co., Ltd. went full-out to develop Japan’s first real racing car. Since the 1965 Japan GP was cancelled, its debut race was the 3rd Japan GP (Fuji) in 1966. The car shown is Y. Sunako’s No.11 car, which defeated Porsche to win the championships. H. Oishi’s R380 (No. 10) came in 2nd place.

3. 1967 Nissan R380-II
Based on the Prince 380 made a year earlier, the R380 set new speed records in 1965 and 1967. First, on October 6/14, 1965, the R380-I established 5 world records. Then, on October 8,1967, this commemorative car - Type II (modified type II) - set no fewer than 7 international records (50km, 50 miles, 100km, 100 miles, 200km, 200 miles, 1 hour) on a course in Yatabe, Ibaraki Pref. (driver: T. Yokoyama).

4. 1970 Nissan R383
Having won the 1969 Japan GP with the R382, Nissan began preparations for a new machine to compete in the 1970 Japan GP. The result was the R383, dubbed ''700 horsepower!'' Unfortunately, the 1970 Japan GP was cancelled and the R383, without a chance to demonstrate its prodigious ability, became a machine of legend. This commemorative car is a reconstruction (replica) used for motor shows.

5. 1973 Nissan Skyline H/T 2000GT-R
The fourth-generation Skyline, the C110 (nickname: Ken & Mary), was launched in November 1972, but the GT-R version was launched in January of the following year. With its 6-cylinder in line DOHC 24-valve S20 engine, it was the first domestic car to have disc brakes front and rear. This advanced engineering made it very popular, but production was halted at 197 units after stricter exhaust emission regulations were introduced.
At the time, it was mourned by many fans as ''the last model to bear the GT-R badge''.

6. 1976 Nissan Cherry FII Coupe
The F10 was launched in September 1974. This particular vehicle was the highest grade model, a works car based on the GX Twin (with SU twin-carb engine). It was used in photo shoots for the Yellow Cherry catalog. However, because Nissan retired from racing, it has never been in an actual competition, only being driven by Masahiro Hasemi in a demo run for Race de Nippon 1976 in Tsukuba.

7. 1983 Nissan Bluebird Super Silhouette
Despite retaining the form of the production car, this monster machine is a "Super Silhouette," a race category introduced into Japan in 1979. Driven by H. Yanagida, this Bluebird won the championship title twice, in 1980 and 1982. In the 1983 Fuji GC series, it won 3 rounds out of 4. It also won the Tsukuba event, displaying overwhelming power.

8. 1985 Nissan R85V
In the 1986 Le Mans, the Nissan (NISMO) team entered a pair of Group C cars. Sadly, the top Japanese machine in the qualifier, the #23 Nissan R86V Nichira (K. Hoshino, K. Matsumoto, A. Suzuki), was forced to retire. However, the #23 Nissan R85V Amada (Masahiro Hasemi, T. Wada, J. Weaver) attracted attention when it came in 16th overall in its debut race.

9. 1987 Nissan Skyline 2000GTS-R
The seventh-generation Skyline (R31) was launched in August 1985 and this model is well remembered as being the first to reintroduce the 6-cylinder DOHC engine (discontinued with the C110). In May 1986, the coupe GTS appeared, and in August 1987, after a minor change, the coupe GTS-R (RB20DET-R: 210PS engine) - based on Group A race specifications - was sold as a limited edition (800 units).

10. 1989 Nissan Silvia K's
The fifth- generation Silvia (S13) - descended from the first-generation CSP311, launched in March 1965 - was introduced on May 17, 1988.
This car was developed as a compact specialty coupe with an emphasis on beauty and the driving experience. Exterior and interior shared the same design theme, and numerous advanced technologies, such as the multilink rear suspension, were incorporated to enhance performance. For this reason, the car was greatly appreciated by the younger generation, who are very particular about the way a car handles. The S13 was regarded as a high-quality product, and in 1988 it received the Good Design Award by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
The natural lines and curved surfaces of the streamlined styling set the S13 apart. Together with its interior - which, from dashboard to door trim and center console, featured a unified design - this car had the unmistakable look of a specialty coupe.
The multilink rear suspension was a new idea that was later adopted for the Skyline. Together with the HICAS-II 4-wheel steering system (option) and the 1.8-liter twin-cam engine (CA18DE/CA18DET), the car was equipped to provide an excellent drive.
The S13 was available in 3 grades: K's, Q's, and J's. The top-of-the-line KВ’s was equipped with the S-pack (rear spoiler, projected headlights, 195/60R15 tires, etc.) which accentuated the sporty character of the car. Following a minor change in January 1991, the engine was changed to the twin-cam SR20DE/SR20DET.

11. 1991 Nissan R91CP
Nissan started making Group C cars in 1985. At first a Nissan engine would be mounted in a foreign-made chassis (March Engineering or Lola Cars International), and entered in the WEC (World Endurance Championship) and JapanВ’s own endurance series. The R91CP, however, was entirely Nissan-made, and - driven by Masahiro Hasemi, K. Hoshino, and Toshio Suzuki - it captured the title in the 1992 Daytona 24 Hours, the first time that a Japanese team or Japanese car had done so.
This silver No.61 car was driven by Hideki Okada and T. Danielsson of Team Take One. Badged as 'Kokuyo, Take One, Nissan', it raced alongside other Group C cars in the All Japan Championship of 1992, the final year it was held. In the Fuji 1000km race, the car's second race since its debut, it succeeded in coming in 2nd. This machine was fitted with Dunlop tires because of sponsorship requirements.

12. 1996 Nismo Skyline GT-R LM
The only machines that can enter the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in the GT class are so-called GT cars, based on vehicles approved for use on public roads. Based on the Skyline GT-R, this vehicle was created as an official road car so NISMO could take part in the 1996 Le Mans; it was actually registered in the UK (although never marketed).

Of Japan's best tuned Skylines is this Mine's V-Spec N1. It's been tuned, not so much for show, as much as to lap Japan's tracks as fast as possible. It was made famous after an appearance on Best Motoring where 'drift king' Keiichi Tsuchiya and Manabu Orido did some hot laps in the car and where surprised by its raw power and responsive handling.
Before the test, Michizo Niikura from Mine's compared this Skyline to the subtle tuning they've performed in the past and explained, unlike before, that the engine had been extensively tuned. But despite the huge increase in power - nearly double - Niikura said that the main focus of the car, like earlier ones, was on ''balance and response''.
In the almost stock looking bay, the engine retains its factory pistons, but uses new high-lift camshafts and two HKS GT2530 Turbos to produce over 600 bhp. Accordingly, the whole intake and exhaust systems are revamped, as is the engine electronics.
To keep all this power in check a 'Mine's Force' suspension is installed which includes a 3-way adjustable damping system and Mine's anti-roll bar. Braking is by enhanced with larger discs that sit behind Mine's 18 inch magnesium wheels.
Outwardy the Mine's Skyline is different, with many pieces crafted in carbon fiber such as a rear wing, front diffuser, side skirts and radiator shroud that all make this car distinct.
During their tests, Tsuchiya and Orido were taken with the performance of this Skyline, and if the rpm gauge was any indication, this is one of the fastest ever made for the road. They said ''it's so fast that even a dead man will scream.''
