Chemical test showed thorough nitriding, and no discoloration after 30 seconds. The stock crank showed instant reaction to chemical.
The dark finish is due to the temp and duration of processing for a deeper hardness which is even more than the Crower race cranks!
The machinist was impressed with the quality... especially for a factory supplied part.
