Забавную статью нашёл, на тему не очень удачного дебюта команды Субару
in 1990 Subaru teamed up with the small Coloni team and entered the Formula One World Championship…and after eight attempts to qualify, actually to PRE-qualify (this was a time in F1 when there were more cars trying to race then there were spots on the grid so to weed out the also-rans the slow teams had to demonstrate they could do a reasonable lap time…most didn’t) without success, Coloni switched engine partners and Subaru decided to go rally racing instead. So technically Subaru never actually started a Grand Prix so never really “competed” in Formula One… Subaru’s 3.0l flat twelve engine was not only three hundred pounds too heavy but a few hundred horsepower underpowered. At Monaco for example Ayrton Senna put his McLaren Honda on poll with a lap time of 1 minute, 21 seconds and change while Bertrand Gachot in the Coloni Subaru only managed a 1’39, some 18 seconds a lap slower. As bad as that sounds the Coloni Scoob wasn’t the slowest car at Monaco, that honor went to Bruno Giacomelli and the infamous LIFE car (considered the worst Grand Prix car of all time) which was 20 seconds slower then Senna…per lap, when it managed to finish one that is.
